Student Services Information

We serve adult learners come from all parts of Beaufort County and from all walks of life. Some left school after the second grade; some reached high school; others can read in a foreign language but not in English.  Our students are 18 and older,  and include; students, parents, grandparents, housewives, businessmen and women, farmers, and workers in all areas of endeavor. The one thing they have in common is that they each lack educational skills that they need to succeed in one or more areas of life. Parents, students, housewives, businessmen and women, farmers, and workers in all areas of endeavor.

Volunteers of Beaufort County (LVBC) aim to empower the citizens of Beaufort County by providing in reading, writing, English, and mathematics and specialty areas (GED, CRC, citizenship test, ESL, helping children with homework, written portion of driver's license test, ASVAB, job applications, workplace skill development, computer skills, etc.).

We  accept applications year round, and meet with individuals and families on an on-going  basis. Each learner’s skill level is evaluated and a program of study is planned with that level as the starting point.  One to one tutoring is then provided. Appropriate adult materials are chosen and lessons are centered on the learner’s goals and interests. Review our information packet to familiarize yourself with our  programs, and make sure to book a tour to see our facilities in person.

We look forward to meeting you!
